The most up-to-date list of what's being affected at Rider by the storm
Work continues on Rider’s Lawrenceville and Princeton campuses to prepare for the start of the spring semester. Day classes on both campuses are canceled Monday, January 25. Classes beginning from 4:30 p.m. on Monday will be held as scheduled.
Please note - with thawing and freezing, surfaces across campus may be icy and slippery. Please use extra caution when walking and driving.
This weekend's blizzard has altered the schedule of several other events and operations this weekend. Please continue to check back here for the most up-to-date list of what's being affected at Rider by the storm.
- Westminster Choir: Homecoming Concert 2016: The concert will take place as scheduled on Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall, Princeton University.
- Move-in day: Rider's Lawrenceville and Princeton campuses will open for move-in on Sunday, January 24, at noon. The University has been working to ensure sufficient time to clear all parking lots, roadways and walkways before the majority of students return. For everyone’s safety, please yield to snow plows for those of you who are on campus over the weekend. Rider will also have expanded Public Safety coverage across both campuses, as well as a limited number of shovels and brushes available for students to dig out their cars.
- Offices closed Sunday: All University offices (on both the Lawrenceville and Princeton campuses) will be closed on Sunday, January 24, and re-open on Monday, January 25.
- NYC Unified Audition Update: The auditions scheduled for today, January 23, will be taking place as planned, however, the information session and dance call scheduled for 7 p.m. is cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday, January 24 at 3 p.m. at the same location: Pearl Studios, Penthouse #2, 500 8th Ave., NYC. Auditions for Sunday, January 24 will occur as scheduled: 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Any further updates will be posted here. For questions, e-mail Kate Shields at [email protected].
- Rider Baseball First Pitch Dinner rescheduled: This event has been postponed to Jan. 30. Registration has been extended through Tuesday, Jan. 26. To register for the event, please visit alumni.rider.edu/2016firstpitchdinner.
- Perry Cohen Weston ’99 memorial service rescheduled: The memorial service originally planned to be held at Rider this weekend will now be held in Gill Chapel on Saturday, January 30, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception in the SRC Seminar Room at 11:30 a.m.
- Bookstore closing: The Rider University Bookstore (on the Lawrenceville campus) will be closed on Saturday, January 23.
- The multicultural student leadership institute award dinner rescheduled: This event will be rescheduled. More information regarding a new date and time will be forthcoming.
- BLC closed: The Bart Luedeke Center, including Cranberry’s and C-Store/Subway will be closed on Saturday.
- Women's Basketball Alumni, Family and Friends Reception postponed: The reception, scheduled to take place after the women's basketball game on Saturday, has been postponed to a later (TBD) date as well.
- SGA's annual Leadership Day postponed: Originally scheduled for Saturday, this event will now be held Feb. 6 from 2 to 5 p.m. The location for the check-in and welcome is Sweigart Auditorium (115). Registration details will be forthcoming.
- Westminster Conservatory: The Conservatory will be closed Saturday at the main campus location at Westminster Choir College, as well as the Lawrenceville extension (St. Ann's School). The Honors Music Program Chamber Music Concerts have been postponed to Saturday, Jan. 30, in Bristol Chapel. For updated information, call 609-219-2000 ext. 1, then 2.
