107.7 The Bronc-WRRC FM has been named New Jersey Broadcaster Association’s Best of The Best for Best College Radio Station in New Jersey.
The award was presented at the 2016 NJBA Convention at Caesar’s in Atlantic City on June 23.
“We are thrilled to be bestowed this honor. New Jersey has so many great college and commercial radio stations,” said John Mozes, General Manager of The Bronc. “We are proud to be recognized as the best, it demonstrates our students commitment to and passion for the radio industry.”
Only in its second year, the category of Best Student Radio Station featured Seton Hall University’s Pirate Radio, Rowan University’s Rowan Radio, Montclair State University’s, and Fairleigh Dickinson University’s WFDU-FM.
107.7 The Bronc is a 24/7 community station playing the biggest hits and best variety, along with insightful talk shows and both collegiate and high school sports.
This is The Bronc’s first time winning the coveted award from the distinguished members of the New Jersey Broadcaster’s Association. 107.7 The Bronc has also earned national recognition as the15th Best College Station by the Princeton Review in 2015 and received two awards from the National Broadcaster Society.
The 69th annual NJBA Conference & Gala featured big names, stations and icons throughout the New Jersey Broadcasting scene. Students were able to network and build connections in the vigorous industry that is broadcasting. Student sessions were offered in areas such as “Successful Women in Radio,” “Mentoring Talent,” and “Engaged Relationships: Keys to Thriving in Radio Sales.”
Five-Time Heavyweight World Champion Evander Holyfield spoke was a keynote speaker and the 2016 recipient of the NJBA Howard L. Green Humanitarian of the Year Award.
2016 has been a year of firsts for 107.7 The Bronc. The station put on first time marquee promotional events such as the Eggscelent Egghunt and the #TeamRiderScionContest.
