Elizabeth Davala joins Rider's Career Development and Success as career advisor

Elizabeth Davala joined Rider University's Career Development and Success in June as the career advisor for the College of Education and Human Services, the School of Fine and Performing Arts, and Westminster Choir College.  

Davala will report to the executive director of Career Development and Success for day to day operations and have a dotted line reporting relationship to the College deans. She will be responsible for working collaboratively with constituents within each college to engage undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni, and support/advise them with their professional development. 

Davala will develop and implement career workshops, programs and events; support employer development including employer outreach, employer visits, on campus recruiting, and the development of internships and jobs; and will help collect internship data and first destination outcomes for accrediting agencies and annual reports.   Davala received both a bachelor’s and master’s in counseling services from Rider, in addition to a life and career coaching certificate from the University. After 23 years as manager of student employment at Princeton University, Davala joined Rider as an administrative associate to the associate dean of students and Career Development and Success on the Princeton campus in 2011.   She believes the development of a student’s career path does not begin with a resume. 

“It is a process that starts with self-discovery and assessing strengths, interests, skills and personality,” Davala says. “Career development can be confusing, intimidating and exciting all at once! I am eager and excited to work with our students as they explore our range of resources and programs and embark on this endeavor.”
