$5,000 scholarships are awarded annually to at least five students
The deadline to apply for Undergraduate Research Scholar Awards (URSA) is quickly approaching.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, March 25, 2016, at 3 p.m.
Each year, research scholarships in the amount of $5,000 are awarded to at least five students. Recipients are required to perform independent research under the supervision of a faculty member, and report their results via oral presentations as well as a final research report.
Students are urged to choose a faculty sponsor, discuss potential projects, and submit an application. Juniors planning an honors or capstone project for their senior year are especially encouraged to apply. The award would also be useful for graduate school applications.
The continued success of URSA also relies on the faculty's help in identifying candidates for this prestigious award. It is helpful if faculty encourage students who have demonstrated an innate motivation to perform high quality and creative research to apply.
A more detailed description of the program, including guidelines and selection criteria, as well as application instructions, is available at http://www.rider.edu/ursa.
Contact Dr. Gabriela Smalley, chair of the URSA Committee, or one of the other committee members regarding any questions you may have about the application process.
