A total of four exercises are scheduled for January
As part of Rider's ongoing emergency preparedness efforts, Public Safety and the Lawrence Township Police Department have scheduled joint active shooter training exercises on the Lawrenceville campus. A total of four exercises are scheduled for the month of January:
- Thursday, January 14, at 8:30 a.m. in Memorial Hall
- Monday, January 18, at 5 a.m. in Ridge House
- Wednesday, January 20, at 5 a.m. in Ridge House and 9:30 a.m. in Memorial Hall
Each exercise will last approximately 20 minutes, though Public Safety staff will be at the sites 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after each drill.
The training poses no threat. Its purpose is to measure and further strengthen campus familiarity, response times, actions and communications between the Lawrence Township police and the university. During these exercises the police will respond to campus without lights and sirens, and no firearms or gunfire sound simulators will be used during the training.
If you have any questions regarding this training, please call Vickie Weaver, Director of Public Safety, at ext. 5049.
