Event organized by Career Services and the College of Business Administration
On April 20, Career Services and the College of Business Administration (CBA) Office of the Dean held an employer appreciation reception hosted by President Gregory G. Dell’Omo and his wife, Polly, at their residence, Betta House.
The event was organized to recognize and thank partner employers who recruit and hire Rider CBA students for internships, co-ops and full-time positions. With student outcomes being an integral part of the college selection process today, having small, personal events like this helps to expand employer connections.
"Obtaining work experience related to their field of study is a significant part of a student's college experience," says Iram Khan '12, MAcc '13, employer relations and outcomes coordinator for Career Services. "Our employer partners understand this and are committed to giving back to Rider by providing numerous internship and co-op opportunities for students. The employer appreciation reception was a way for Career Services and Rider to thank employers for their continued partnership and commitment to students and to the University."
In attendance were employers who participated in on-campus recruiting this past academic year including KPMG, Deloitte, Mercadien, Field & Higgins, BlackRock, Bloomberg, and Walgreens ( to name a few) as well as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs DonnaJean Fredeen, CBA Dean Elad Granot, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs Tony Campbell, the Career Services team, CBA faculty members and other University administrators.
Guests enjoyed refreshments while mingling with employers, faculty and staff. Kim Barberich, executive director of Career Services, addressed the crowd, recounting Career Service’s recent achievements including the participation of over 30 employers in on-campus recruiting and over 60 students obtaining internships. Barberich's comments were followed by a short welcome from President Dell’Omo and remarks from Granot.
