Weston was a member of the Rider family for 18 years
Rider University mourns the loss of former staff member Perry Cohen Weston ’99, 73, who passed away on December 21, 2015.
Weston was a member of the Rider family for 18 years, where she held many different positions in Moore Library, Admissions and the College of Continuing Studies. She loved the customer service aspect of her positions at Rider and received great satisfaction from helping others. She retired in 2008.
Due to the potential winter storm, the memorial service originally planned to be held at Rider this weekend has been rescheduled. A service will be held in Gill Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception in the SRC Seminar Room at 11:30 a.m.
A proud Rider alumna, Weston graduated with her associate’s degree in general studies in 1997 and then earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies in 1999. Born and raised in Trenton, Weston attended Trenton Central High School and worked for the Lawrence Township School District prior to joining Rider. Her interests included reading and travel.
Upon her retirement, Weston moved to South Carolina with her husband of 52 years, Marc, where she continued her customer service work in sales at Chico’s clothing store.
In addition to her husband, Weston is survived by her daughter, Jennifer; a sister, Jackie; and three grandchildren, Conor, Caelan and Aoife. She was predeceased by her son, Jay.
The Rider University flag will be lowered on Jan. 30 in Weston's honor.
