Savoia BuntIn ’16 won the annual student cooking competition for her bacon cheeseburger pie
Arts administration major Savoia BuntIn '16 was named the winner of 107.7 The Bronc’s Rider Top Student Chef competition, edging out the other student-chefs for her bacon cheeseburger pie. More than 300 votes were cast in deciding the winner.
BuntIn’s winning recipe will be featured as the "Menu Item of the Month" at PJ's Pancake House in Princeton or one of Gretalia Hospitality Group's other restaurants. Additional prizes for the first-place winner included a 16 GB iPad Mini, a private VIP bowling party for 25 at Colonial Bowling and Entertainment in Lawrence, $200 in Bronc Bucks and $50 to dine at PJ's Pancake House.
This year’s theme to the annual student cooking competition centered on comfort food. The finale took place on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Daly Dining Hall. The other finalists were Alex Albritton ’19, a theater major, for her drop dead mac 'n' cheeeezzeeee and Austin Bradley ’18, a digital media: film, TV and radio major, for his chorizo fried eggs. More than $2,000 in cash and prizes was awarded in total to the finalists.
The finale was presented by Colonial Bowling and Entertainment, Doc's Bar and Grill, PJ’s Pancake House, Rider Dining Services by Aramark and Sam’s Club, Princeton.
