Rider provides fun activities for children age 8-16
Rider welcomed more than 75 children age 8 to 16 for Take Your Child to Work Day on April 26. The event was designed to bring the campus community closer together and expose future Broncs to what Rider has to offer.
"The entire Rider community came together to make Take Your Child to Work Day a success," says Donna Disbrow, director of employment and employee relations. "The children had a great time learning about Rider by participating in hands-on activities around campus. It truly was an engaging experience for everyone involved and we're looking forward to next year."
After a welcome breakfast and some Rider swag bags, the children took part in a variety of activities. They participated in an education workshop and went behind the scenes in the TV studio, learning what it takes to film a segment and be an on-air host. They watched chemical reactions take place using liquid nitrogen and made their own slime with members of the chemistry department. They created artwork with library staff and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for those in need.
AJ the Bronc made a special appearance and the children enjoyed frozen treats before ending the day learning from Rider's student-athletes and Division I coaches.
