She is the founder and CEO of EducationCloset.com, the world's largest online resource for arts integration and STEAM education
Susan Myers Riley ’03 was inducted into the Westminster Music Education Alumni Hall of Fame during a ceremony with the Westminster Music Education majors in May.
After earning a bachelor’s degree from Westminster Choir College, Riley went on to earn a master’s degree in education administration and supervision from McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.
She is the founder and CEO of EducationCloset.com, the world's largest online resource for arts integration and STEAM education. Maryland's first arts integration specialist for a county school system, she also taught K-5 general/vocal music for eight years. In her current work, she focuses on teacher professional development in arts integration, STEAM, curriculum development and 21st-century learning skills. She believes passionately in the power of teacher growth and the development of excellent leaders in and through arts education.
Riley speaks at various conferences, schools and leadership trainings across the United States, and her website reaches more than 200,000 educators from around the world every month. She has written articles for a variety of education publications, including Edutopia, EdWeek and the National Art Educators Association. She has also published two books: Shake the Sketch: An Arts Integration Workbook, which outlines how to start and run a successful Arts Integration program in any school or classroom, and No Permission Required: Bringing STEAM to K-12 Education, which provides educators with the tools they need to survive and thrive in 21st century education.
She lives in Westminster, Md., with her husband, Kevin, and their daughter, Emma Kate.
