Alexander Kanter has been appointed director of Performance Management at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. In this position he is a member of the College’s administrative and advancement teams and is responsible for the scheduling and execution of on and off-campus performances, special events and guest artists. This includes tours by Westminster’s choral ensembles and performances by the Westminster Symphonic Choir with major orchestras in New York and Philadelphia.
Kanter has 14 years of experience as an arts educator, theatre producer, director and administrator. Before joining the Westminster staff, he was director of theatre, dance and AP Capstone Research at Astronaut High School in Titusville, Fla., where he managed the theater for all school and community events and rentals. He was also resident director at the Titusville Playhouse, which is in its 53rd season. Kanter has also worked as a performer and director at various professional theaters around the United States and abroad and as an adjunct professor of theatre at Eastern Florida State College and Daytona State College. For three years he served as coordinator of arts and events and box office manager for the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in New York, and he has held internships with McCarter Theatre, Newark School of the Arts and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Alexander Kanter earned a Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he was the founding artistic director of Shakesquare Savannah, and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language, Literature and Culture from Harvard University.
