Westminster Choir College inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame

Westminster Choir College has been inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame, which seeks to build and sustain enthusiasm for classical music in America by celebrating diverse facets of classical music excellence.

Earl Rivers, a member of the ACMHF Board, announced Westminster’s induction at the 2018 Chorus America 2018 Conference in Chicago and said, “Distinguished by its commitment to musical excellence, unique choral core and mission of service through music, Westminster Choir College and its graduates have made a significant impact on the cultural life of our nation and the world.”

Westminster Choir College Director of External Affairs Anne Sears represented Westminster at the ceremony, which included the presentation of a commemorative medallion designed by wildlife artist John Ruthven.

Westminster Choir College joins The Juilliard School as the only educational institution inducted into the ACMHF, which includes such many of the classical music giants with whom Westminster has collaborated over the past 97 years, including Marin Alsop, Leonard Bernstein, Dave Brubeck, the Cleveland Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, John Adams, Lukas Foss and Zubin Mehta.
