A letter from President Dell'Omo to students, faculty and staff
Dear students, faculty and staff,
Welcome back and happy new year! 2020 is here, and so is the start of the spring semester. With so much taking place right now that will enrich the lives of Rider students, faculty and staff, we have much more than warm weather to look forward to in the coming months.
Over winter break, facility renovations related to the Engaged Learning Program, the Westminster Campus transition, and our diversity and inclusion efforts continued unabated. These projects, in Gill Chapel, the Bart Luedeke Center and elsewhere, are making our campus a more vibrant and engaging place to live, learn and work, and I'm very excited that, in the coming weeks, we plan to announce major new projects that will have a big impact on the University.
The women's basketball team is having one of its best seasons in recent memory, and wrestling is currently ranked No. 25 in the nation. I hope to see you in Alumni Gym supporting the Broncs — and in Atlantic City in March for the MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships.
This month, the Westminster Choir continued to mark its centenary with a successful series of concerts out west. I'm looking forward to attending the annual Tour Homecoming Concert tonight. Many other events are planned this semester, from appearances by former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey and environmentalist Erin Brockovich to theater and dance performances.
With so much happening around the University, I want to take a moment to address the seniors who are returning for their final semester at Rider. You have so much ahead of you — a life of accomplishing what may only seem like dreams right now. Wherever your journey takes you, Rider will always be a part of your story, but I hope you'll take the time to appreciate all the moments that will make up the final semester of your Rider experience. It is such a special and unique time in your lives.
I'm humbled and honored that we've all chosen Rider to spend those times together. Here's to a wonderful spring semester.
Sincerely,
Gregory G. Dell’Omo, Ph.D.
President
