The Supreme Court ruling on June 18 to keep the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program in effect for now is tremendously important as it protects the nearly 800,000 Dreamers nationwide who contribute their diverse perspectives, talent and knowledge to our higher education communities. I am pleased this landmark decision, albeit a temporary approach to a very complex issue, will allow DACA students at Rider University and beyond to continue pursuing their academic goals.
As a forward-looking university committed to the values of diversity and inclusion, Rider does not discriminate against anyone because of their religion, race, country of national origin, gender identity or sexual orientation. We are comprised of a community of learners committed to supporting one another, and each of us makes important contributions to the vibrancy of our institution.
Every Rider student is vitally important to the culture and fabric of our University. We remain steadfastly committed to our values and pledge to continue supporting and advocating for all of our students, regardless of immigration status.
Sincerely,
Gregory Dell’Omo, Ph.D.
President
