Rider offered Amanda the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the field of psychology through engaging internships and intriguing electives. With specialized coursework in child development, Amanda was able to effectively pursue her career path in school psychology. Majoring in psychology at Rider allowed her to have a smooth transition from her undergrad to graduate program in psychology.

With the skills learned through her internship and course work, Amanda was confident in her knowledge of childhood development and took the opportunity to begin the process of becoming a Certified School Psychologist. Amanda regularly reflects back on information from her previous Rider education and applies it to her current career as a school psychologist.

Continued success
Currently, Amanda is still working with Bartlesville Public Schools as a Certified School Psychologist. She works with students, educators and families to support academic achievement, positive behavior, and mental wellness of all students, especially those who struggle with barriers to their education. Amanda helps aid students and families by improving and individualizing education to effectively close the achievement gap.
