The number of teaching placements Chelsea experienced as an education major.
2 Months
Time it took Chelsea to land her first job after graduation.
Why Chelsea chose Rider
Rider was the first school Chelsea visited and it was love at first sight. "I knew it had a great Education department. But it was the size, the pretty campus, the friendliness and the sense of community that made me want to go there. I could feel it immediately."
My job is extremely rewarding. I've only been teaching for four months, but I've seen tremendous growth in many of my students. I wake up everyday and want to go to work!

Rider's impact on Chelsea's career
Chelsea credits Rider’s small size for making it easier for her to get involved, become a leader and grow as an educator. She served as president of the Student Education Association and vice president of Kappa Delta Pi, an educational honor society. She also gained valuable insight through field placements in six different classrooms. "Rider really prepares you; you go into your field placements knowing how to handle certain situations. I was able to see six different teachers teach, take what they did in their classrooms and apply it to my classroom. During my junior year, I took a class with Dr. Tracey Garrett called Classroom Management. I would not be the teacher I am today without her class."
Continued success
After a handful of interviews and three different job offers, Chelsea accepted a position as a kindergarten teacher shortly after graduation. "Without all my experiences in the field, my student leadership experiences, and the professors that I had, I would not have secured a job so quickly. I’m extremely lucky and I thank Rider for that."
