The number of years Gina worked on air and behind the scenes at Rider’s RUN-TV.
National awards Gina received from the National Broadcasting Society.
During her internships, Gina worked as a production assistant for A&E Upfront with John Legend and The Roots. and filmed celebrity interviews at New York’s Z-100 with Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas, Nick Lachey and David Archuleta.
Choosing Rider was a no-brainer for Gina. She knew it had a good communication program and — most importantly for her — RUN-TV (Rider University Network) where she could gain valuable experience working in the TV studio. “I was very serious about my major. Being able to work in Rider’s TV studio my freshman year was very important to me. I wanted to get my hands on the equipment right away. I wanted that hands-on experience!”
I never thought I’d be this far into my career two years out of college. I love working in New York City. I love working on a project and being able to see it on national television.
Arriving at Rider with plans of being a TV news reporter, Gina immediately began working as a reporter/anchor for RUN-TV’s News at Rider. But as a freshman, she also worked behind the scenes as editor/cameraman for On the Issues. By her sophomore year, Gina was working as producer for Rider Right Now. She went on to produce other RUN-TV shows as well as a documentary with her mentor, Dr. Shawn Kildea.
With the help of her professors, Gina landed internships at Z-100 Radio, A&E Television Networks and Outpost Digital. “All my experiences helped me to see what I was capable of doing and put me on a new career path. My work showed me I love documentaries, history and writing.”
While at Rider, Gina won three national first-place awards from the National Broadcasting Society (NBS) for filming, editing and producing. She also served as national vice president of the NBS and two years as president of RUN-TV. “My learning extended far beyond the classroom at Rider,” says Gina.
Gina’s internship at Outpost Digital resulted in a full-time job after graduation as post-production producer working on television programs and music videos. The projects she works on can be seen on the Discovery Channel, A&E and MTV. “I never thought I’d be this far into my career two years out of college. Now, I’m working with editors who have Oscars and directors who have Emmys,” says Gina. “I love working in New York City. I love working on a project and being able to see it on national television.”
