Halli was also inducted into Alpha Mu Alpha, the marketing honors society in her junior year.
Halli graduated as a Business Honors Scholar, completing her senior honors thesis on privacy in social media.
Why Halli chose Rider
In high school, Halli looked at different colleges hoping to find one that would fit well with what she was looking for in a college education. “As soon as I stepped onto Rider’s campus, I knew I was at home,” she said. She was eager to come to Rider because “the excellent business program, the well educated faculty, and the friendly faces around each corner reasserted the fact that Rider was the place for me.” As a commuter student, she wanted a place where she knew she could be a part of campus life even though she did not live on campus. “Overall, I knew that Rider would give me the best education I could possibly get, while also giving me an enjoyable experience throughout my four years here.” Halli also feels that the connections she’s made with staff and students will have an indelible impact on her future.
Rider’s impact on Halli’s career
Before coming to Rider, Halli had not fully come out of her shell. She says that she “was quite shy, did not know many people on campus, and was anxious to take a leap into being a college student.” However, after Halli’s first class, “Introduction to Business”, she learned about the foundations of business and she says, “I realized that I was capable of becoming a successful business professional.” After taking numerous classes in the marketing program and in other business areas, she became more confident in her own abilities. “My confidence is largely due to the well-rounded educational experience that I have gained as a student at Rider.” Halli attributes her growth to the faculty and hands-on learning experiences offered at Rider.
The faculty at Rider have allowed me to be aware of many different business capacities, and have allowed me to gain the confidence and knowledge in order to become the best marketer possible.”
In May 2021, Halli graduated as a Business Honors Scholar. Rider’s Business Honors Program utilizes cohort learning, which teaches the framework of successful business environments by encouraging teamwork and critical thinking. “Writing my thesis for the Business Honors Program allowed me to further explore marketing in terms of privacy.” Halli believes that this hands-on experience has allowed her to gain knowledge that she would not otherwise have gained. “I am extremely grateful for the experience that the Business Honors Program gave to me.”
Continued success
Following graduation, Halli began a full-time position with Freedom Mortgage in their First Flyer program in Sales. “The confidence and skills I have gained from Rider will have an extreme impact on my future career. Additionally, the Career and Success Center has given me every tool that I have needed throughout my search for a career after graduation.” Halli was recruited for Freedom Mortgage through Handshake, Rider’s online job management system. “Through Handshake, I was recruited for my full time position starting in June. I know I will be fully prepared for this occupation due to everything I have learned throughout my four years at Rider.”
