Hamna worked in the dean's office of the Norm Brodsky College of Business, as well as interning for Penn Medicine Princeton Health, Cigna and the International Sculpture Center.

With a brother who is a Rider alumnus, Hamna has always been familiar with the University. After doing research, touring the campus and attending Cranberry Fest, a beloved campus tradition, Rider became her first choice. She felt Rider was her perfect fit due to its convenient location, tailored academic programs and social opportunities. When it came to her studies, the smaller class sizes and one-on-one attention from professors would mean that she’d never feel like a number. Most importantly, she appreciated the sense of community and belonging she felt while on campus.
With over 150 organizations at Rider, I found that I could easily get involved on campus, from leadership and major-specific organizations to social and community-service organizations.”

Rider’s impact on Hamna
Since becoming a Bronc, Hamna has taken advantage of every opportunity to enhance herself both academically and professionally. She’s gotten involved and has held leadership positions with several campus organizations including Circle K International, Delta Sigma Pi (professional business fraternity), the Data Analytics and Information Systems Club, Healthcare Club, and Student Government Association. Through her active involvement, she’s gained valuable analytical reasoning, critical thinking and interpersonal skills along with other strategies that she leverages both in and outside of the classroom to solve problems quickly and effectively.
Hamna also quickly learned that “hard work pays off,” and that mindset coupled with a positive attitude toward her studies led her to gaining life-changing opportunities. One being her first internship with Penn Medicine Princeton Health, which she landed after taking a special topics course taught by the hospital’s CEO.
Through her "Case Analysis and Presentation" course, Hamna was invited to represent Rider as part of a student team in the Johnson & Johnson National Business Case Competition. Hamna and the Rider team prepared a financial analysis and strategic plan for a consumer product in J&J’s skincare portfolio. The students then presented their findings to a panel of J&J executives and ultimately placed third in the national competition.

Looking ahead
Hamna showcased her academic, leadership and professional experiences while interning as a risk management and underwriting intern with Cigna’s Philadelphia office. The result of Hamna’s hard work led to Cigna offering her a full-time position as an analyst in their Risk Management & Underwriting Leadership Development Program prior to graduation.
Hamna’s advice to other students is to, “Leverage your time at Rider, it is never too early to get involved on campus or look for internships. Get ahead and stay ahead!”
