Madison traveled to three countries, Croatia, Ireland and Tanzania, through Rider's short-term study abroad programs.
Madison put her leadership skills to use as the women's club lacrosse treasurer and vice president, as well as the club equestrian team treasurer.
Madison completed two internships with OASIS Group and Northwestern Mutual.
Why Madison chose Rider
As a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville, NJ, Madison had always heard great things about Rider University. The proximity to her home and outstanding reputation of the Norm Brodsky College of Business made her college decision an easy one. "As soon as I walked onto campus and was able to tour the University, I knew Rider was the right fit for me.”
Rider’s impact on Madison's career
To say Madison got involved here, there and everywhere as a Bronc would be an understatement. At first, as a commuter student, Madison found it challenging to get involved in all that Rider had to offer, but soon joined clubs, organizations and attended any event she could. Her involvement gave her the sense of belonging she was looking for.
Madison was active in Rider's Business Honors Program. She held leadership positions as the vice president and treasurer of the women’s club lacrosse team and the treasurer of the club equestrian team. Additionally, she seized the opportunity to study abroad three times, venturing to Croatia, Ireland and Tanzania.
I have always had a passion for travel. Rider's short term study abroad programs allowed me to do that while gaining experiences I will transfer into my career.”
Madison's first study abroad trip in Croatia centered around the theme: “Business: Then and Now”. Students explored international business practices while learning about the Croatian economy. Madison's next trip was a three week adventure in Ireland, focused on the “Business of Sports”, which helped her gain insight into the economic impact of the sports industry in Ireland while enjoying activities including rock climbing, surfing, zip lining and more. Madison’s final study trip was potentially her most memorable and unique, as she learned about Tanzanian culture and business while taking part in safaris and camping in yurts in the Serengeti National Park.
“I continue to travel to make myself more aware of the world around us and to develop insights into various cultures,” says Madison. “I love the new experiences, challenges and memories that traveling provides me with.”
Through all her experiences at Rider, she notes how valuable it was that her classes and experiences directly corresponded to her professional goals. Madison gained valuable knowledge in and out of the classroom, completing two internships during her time at Rider. She worked with two other Rider students at the OASIS Group as a marketing intern and also as a marketing campus recruiter for Northwestern Mutual.
Continued success
Prior to graduation, Madison accepted an offer of employment from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a management consultant for the Workforce Transformation group. To her fellow and future Broncs, Madison encourages students to take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself and to network as much as possible, maintaining relationships near and far.
