Collaborated with many students within the Westminster community and developed close-knit connections as well as shared interests in music.
Exposed to a variety of performance opportunities both on campus and off campus and took advantage of Westminster’s proximity to New York City by attending Broadway shows, operas and orchestras — all experiences that helped to shape his appreciation and knowledge of music.
An engaging, quality music education
Entering college at 18 years old, like many young adults, Ryan was a bit unsure of his life plan. He was drawn to the possibilities available in the arts at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. When he visited campus for the first time, he was immediately intrigued by the sense of community he felt and became excited about the chance to be a part of a close knit circle of musicians. From there, he knew that Westminster was his ideal learning environment, as it would provide the quality education and college experience he was searching for.
Enriching performance opportunities
As a student, Ryan was exposed to numerous performances, both on and off campus, that helped to supplement his formal music education. With Westminster’s close proximity to New York City, he’d often visit the city to attend orchestras, shows and operas. These rich experiences would further shape his college years, and later prepare him for his career ahead.

Continued success
After graduation, Ryan’s career in music education presented many opportunities. He has actively participated in choirs, written books, presented at conferences and collaborated with previous mentors and professors since graduating. "Choosing where to go to college can be a big daunting scary decision," explained Ryan. "I am so glad that I chose to go to Westminster Choir College and it has served me incredibly well in my personal and professional life.”
Currently, Ryan is a high school and middle school music teacher in New York City. He continues to reflect from his knowledge and his experiences from Westminster to better educate his students in choral studies.
