Why Sudharani chose Rider

Sudharani came to Rider because obtaining her MBA was her dream. She is the first of her family to receive a master’s degree. This program provided flexibility for her career. Sudharani also enjoyed “the great diversity of students and the faculty,” as it made her feel welcomed to campus. The MBA program that she was interested in gave her the opportunity to connect the dots between the academic world and career management. “I was able to understand business needs with more details that I wouldn't have been able to if I didn't participate in the program.” 

Rider's impact on Sudharani's success

Many of the courses that Sudharani took gave her the opportunity to interact with other students, so it made the coursework easier to understand because they were able to learn from each other's perspectives. For example, her management theory class gave insights on how to best work in a team environment “when there are many different personalities and culture is involved.” 

Continued success

After completing the MBA program, Sudharani was promoted at her job to the next level position, which was exciting especially in the midst of the pandemic. Sudharani’s grandmother always encouraged her to stand on her feet and focus on self-respect, and the MBA program at Rider “provided the confidence and strength” that she needed while going through a hard time. “My advisor Jean Cherney is a great advisor who was there from the beginning to the end ensuring that I have achieved my goal.” According to Sudharani, “Not many universities offer that kind of personal touch to the student’s well-being.”
