The film and media studies (FMS) minor will provide you with experience in film history, major directors, film genres, and film theory, immersing you in cinema studies as a specialized discipline and also emphasizing interdisciplinary humanities and cultural studies perspectives to give you a comprehensive understanding of media in the world.

This minor integrates coursework in film aesthetics, American and global film history, and film practice, including courses in screenwriting and filmmaking.
The Alternative Film Club meets weekly on Wednesday evenings starting at 6:15 p.m. in the Fine Arts building. Student participants enjoy the company of other film enthusiasts as they watch and discuss movies of their own selection, while munching on popcorn or pizza.
