Dear Students,
We know that the issue of refunds and/or credits for room and board is important to you and your families. It is a critical decision for us too.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has been monitoring federal and state guidance that may impact refund processing. We are also taking time to be thorough and thoughtful about these decisions as they have significant financial implications for you and your families and for Rider.
At this time, we want to assure you that we are working on a plan for students who were billed room and board charges for the spring 2020 semester, and who do not remain on campus during the spring semester remote learning period, to receive a prorated credit and/or refund for their housing and meal plans for the period of Monday, March 23, the first day after the originally scheduled spring break, through Tuesday, May 12, the last day of the spring semester.
Please note that financial aid and scholarship policies, among other factors, may impact the final amount of your credit and/or refund.
There are many details that still must be finalized before we can start issuing credits and/or refunds, and we ask for your patience as we do so. There will be more information forthcoming as this process is solidified.
In closing, we want to thank each of you for understanding that the coronavirus outbreak has created great challenges that we are committed to addressing each and every day. Please continue to practice social distancing and all guidance designed to keep you and your families healthy. As a community, that is our greatest priority.
