It is the goal of faculty and staff to send graduating students off from Rider University with a diploma, a bright career outlook and a lifetime of positive memories. There are, however, even more benefits to being a Rider graduate — many of them little known to alumni.
“All Rider University alumni have access to exclusive benefits, services and events,” says Kathryn Sampson, associate director of Alumni Relations. “We hope that through offering a variety of relevant options we can engage the alumni network, keep alumni connected to the University, and hopefully encourage alumni to return to campus for a visit.” The University offers more than a dozen benefits for alumni to take advantage of. Here is a list of five little-known benefits.
Alumni audit
Many alumni want to expand their knowledge post-graduation. For a minimal fee, alumni are eligible to audit undergraduate courses and continue their studies during the fall and spring semesters, as well as during both summer sessions.
Access to campus facilities
Alumni are welcome to use various Rider facilities.
- Check out books from the Franklin F. Moore Library
- Access to the Pub
- Membership to the Student Recreation Center (SRC) includes the pool, SRC, group exercise classes, the indoor track, game room and locker room amenities for a monthly fee of $33. The monthly membership fee for the pool only is $17.
- Access to the J. Goodner Gill Memorial Chapel and Bristol Chapel for weddings remembrances and more. Certain fees may apply.
Bronc in a Box
Alumni can add some Rider spirit to their next social event. Bronc in a Box allows them to score some Rider goodies for alumni meetings or events. The Office of Alumni Relations will customize a free box of Rider gear to fit the occasion.
The Alumni Marketplace
Save money by showing your cranberry lineage! This marketplace lists alumni-owned businesses and the discounts given to their alumni customers. This tool allows alumni to save money with discounts while strengthening their bond to Rider graduates by supporting their businesses. The Office of Alumni Relations has also partnered with PerksConnect to offer an expansive online program for discounts from local and national businesses.
Discounts at Rider bookstore
Cash in on a 25 percent discount on one logo item in the Rider University Store (Lawrenceville campus) or the Westminster Music and Books (Princeton campus). Purchaser must have an alumni ID card with them.
