by Anne Sears
Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Rider University’s Westminster College of the Arts, will offer its early childhood music program for the first time in West Windsor beginning in March.
Classes will meet weekly for 10 weeks on Tuesdays, beginning on March 20, at Princeton Presbyterian Church, 545 Meadow Road in West Windsor. Interested parents and children are invited to two open houses, which will be held at Princeton Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, February 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, February 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Guests will have the opportunity to see the new facilities at the church, meet the faculty and participate in demonstration classes.
The early childhood program at the Westminster Conservatory of Music specializes in bringing developmentally appropriate music instruction to children from 4 months to 9 years of age. Classes are facilitated by faculty trained in both music and early childhood education. Families enrolled in these classes will explore the world of music with their children in an engaging and playful atmosphere.
Class offerings at Princeton Presbyterian Church will include Musical Playground for ages 12 - 36 months, Stepping Tones for ages 3 ½ to 4 ½ years, Musical Gateways for ages 4 ½ to 5 ½ years, and Children's Voice Class for grades 2 - 4.
