More than 2,000 students saw the hip hop star
More than 2,000 students packed the Student Recreation Center on Oct. 16 for Rider’s annual fall concert, which featured hip hop star Big Sean and Justine Skye, who opened the show.
This year, the rapper released his third studio album, Dark Sky Paradise, which debuted as the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. His song "One Man Can Change the World,” featuring Kanye West and John Legend, won for Best Video with a Social Message at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
The concert, which was only open to undergraduate students and was sponsored by the Student Entertainment Council, was one of the most highly anticipated events on campus this semester. When tickets were released, the line overflowed into the campus mall.
Justine Skye, who released her second record, Emotionally Unavailable, in June, got the crowd warmed up, along with a special performance by this year’s R Factor champion, freshman Jo Panuccio '19.
