Westminster Conservatory students perform to benefit the Dr. H. Korkina Scholarship Fund.
by Anne Sears
Westminster Conservatory of Music will present a benefit concert on Saturday, January 7, at 5 p.m. in Williamson Hall on the campus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton. It will be followed by a reception and silent auction of unique crafted jewelry pieces in Thayer Lounge. Admission to the concert and reception is free, but donations will be accepted at the door. Proceeds from both events will benefit the Dr. H Korkina Scholarship Fund for dedicated Westminster Conservatory students.
The performers will be students of Larissa Korkina, a member of the Westminster Conservatory faculty. They are Julian Edgren, a student at Princeton High School; Molly Zhu, a student at West Windsor High School North; Alex Ge, a student at Montgomery School; Farshad Tahvildar – Zadeh, a student at Oberlin Conservatory of Music and guest artist Ben Wulfman, a student at Princeton High School. Their program will include solo works by Beethoven, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Ravel, Scriabin; duets by Liszt and Schubert; and Brahms’ Trio for horn, piano and violin. All of the performers are award-winning musicians who have performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, the Kimmel Center and other venues.
Westminster Conservatory is the community music school of Rider University’s Westminster College of the Arts. To learn more about this performance call Westminster Conservatory at 609-921-7104.
