Thomas LaVoy's White Stones is part of the Harold Rosenbaum Choral Series.
White Stones, a choral composition by Westminster Choir College student Thomas LaVoy, was recently published by G. Schirmer in its Harold Rosenbaum Choral Series. Rosenbaum is a highly acclaimed choral conductor and tireless champion of new American choral music whose professional choir, The New York Virtuoso Singers, performed White Stones in their January 2009 New York concert honoring the winners of Rosenbaum’s 2008 Choral Composition Contest.
Lavoy wrote the work in collaboration with poet Esther Margaret Ayers. He continues to produce new work while pursuing music composition, theory, and piano studies at Westminster. An Andrew J. Rider Scholar and Presidential Scholarship recipient, he is completing his second year of study at the Choir College where he studies piano with James Goldsworthy and composition with Benjamin CS Boyle and Joel Phillips.
