She worked at Rider for 23 years
Diane Carter, assistant to the vice president of University Advancement, passed away March 16 after a brief illness.
Carter, 65, a resident of Ewing Township, was employed by Rider for the past 23 years. Known for her kind heart and always putting others first, she devoted her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed vacationing on Long Beach Island, taking care of her dog, Daisy, feeding wild birds, and cooking for family and friends.
“Diane was an integral member of the Rider community for almost a quarter of a century,” says Jonathan Meer, vice president for University Advancement. “Those of us who worked closely with her felt her loyalty to the University every day. She was devoted to her husband, Bob, their kids and their many relatives, and she was similarly committed to her 'work family.' We miss her desperately."
Carter is survived by her husband, Robert Carter; a son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Christine Carter; a daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Ryan Littlefield; a new granddaughter, Ava Catherine Carter; as well as many siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Road, Ewing. Burial will follow in Ewing Church Cemetery. Calling hours for family and friends will be on Wednesday evening, March 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Brenna Funeral Home, Immordino Chapel, 1799 Klockner Road, Hamilton.
