A letter from President Dell'Omo
Dear students, faculty and staff,
The end of the semester is finally here, and with its arrival, the holiday season can now begin in earnest. Always highly anticipated, the holidays feel especially poignant this year as we look forward to turning the page on 2020 and making a fresh start with a hopeful new year.
Throughout this semester, I've witnessed so many at Rider face a once-in-a-lifetime challenge with grace, determination and a spirit of community. I’m not only grateful but filled with pride at the selfless way we have pursued our individual and collective goals while contributing to the overall mission of the University. Thank you for investing your energy into Rider. We will never stop seeking to reward that investment with our bold efforts to create and sustain a vibrant and meaningful community to live, learn and work.
While we have reached the end of the semester, we have not reached the end of the pandemic. I urge all of us to continue to be mindful of the health practices that will keep our loved ones and our communities safe and healthy. Wear your mask, social distance and wash your hands.
The CDC recommends that the safest way to celebrate the winter holidays is to celebrate at home with the people you live with in your household. With cases rising throughout the United States, we cannot afford to ignore this expert advice. To an unusual degree, the everyday choices we make right now have the potential to affect the lives of those we care about in real and potentially devastating ways. Please be smart, and choose wisely.
While I hope everyone will find time to unplug and relax over the coming weeks, many of us are also busy preparing for the spring semester. Please make it a point to periodically check your email over winter break as well as Rider’s Resolved and Ready website for updates and new information.
Thank you again for a job well done this semester. I wish each of you and your families a wonderful holiday season.
Sincerely,
Gregory G. Dell’Omo, Ph.D.
