Angela participated in two practicums and an internship with Rider’s Counseling Services and completed a graduate assistantship at the Center for Reading and Writing.
Angela co-founded a wellness center with her fellow Rider counseling alumni.
When looking to enhance her education with a graduate degree, Angela came to Rider University. She was searching for a program with a person-centered approach and liked that Rider’s counseling program is structured to help counselors hone in on their ability to connect with clients and provide the facilitation conditions for healing. Angela knew of Rider’s reputation through her prior professional experience: “In previous positions when I have had the responsibility of interviewing and hiring interns, I found that many Rider Master's level students were more sophisticated in their therapy skills than many doctoral level students. Rider’s Counseling Service program is outstanding!”
I am the therapist I am today because of the amazing teachers I had in the Rider counseling program. I have never encountered another program that teaches the therapy process and dynamics the way Rider does.”
Attending Rider not only helped Angela to become a great therapist, but it gave her the confidence to pursue her dreams and aspirations. Her education, combined with the support and resources provided by Rider’s Center for Career Development and Success, assisted her throughout her career progression. Angela is adamant that had it not been for her incredibly positive experience at Rider, she would not have had the courage nor the resources to start her nonprofit organization, Moorestown Integrative Wellness.
Angela is fulfilling her dream of leading a non-profit integrative wellness center. The goal of the organization is to provide services and education to the community on empirically supported integrative health and wellness practices. Her dream of creating this organization stems from the connections she made at Rider. In fact, her organization’s board of directors and co-founders are all Angela’s former Rider classmates. They all share a common vision and over the last year and half have collaborated to put the vision into action. Rider's counseling services program was exceptional in training them to work collaboratively and effectively as a team. She believes it has been an invaluable asset in launching her organization.
