Sept. 26 letter from President Dell'Omo
Dear Rider University community,
I am pleased to share that the Rider University Board of Trustees has voted to approve the new five-year labor agreement that was ratified by the AAUP.
Our continued goal throughout this process was to reach a fair balance between the interests of the administration and the bargaining unit members. The short and long-term changes to our faculty contract will help the University strengthen its financial health while still providing faculty, coaches, librarians and athletic trainers with competitive terms of employment.
We still have much work to do to strengthen the University’s finances, by growing enrollment and auxiliary revenue, and undertaking continued fundraising efforts. I hope that our entire community can continue working together toward these important goals.
In closing, I wish to thank all of the individuals who participated in the labor negotiations this summer. Teams from both the administration and the AAUP spent many hours working to achieve this new five-year contract and on behalf of the entire University and the Board of Trustees, we appreciate their efforts.
Sincerely,
Gregory G. Dell’Omo, Ph.D.
President, Rider University
