Two months after graduation, Christine landed her first job — with the American Cancer Society, one of her senior year internships.

"I knew many family, friends and neighbors who had great experiences at Rider, so I decided to enroll there. During my first visit to campus, I sat in on one of Dr. Jonathan Millen’s communication classes. It felt like a really welcoming environment. I didn't want to feel like a small fish in a big pond. I wanted to be part of a campus community."

Rider's impact on Christine's success
"The experience I had at Rider helped shape me into the leader I am today. I definitely wouldn’t have had the confidence to take risks were it not for some of the learning experiences I had at the University. For example, as president of Rider’s chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority, I was able to hone the communication skills I needed in the workplace. Continued success
As the manager of fundraising and special events at the American Diabetes Association (ADA), Christine organizes the annual Philadelphia Father of the Year awards. This event recognizes men that have made family a priority, while balancing a demanding career and community involvement. "My experience as an intern at the American Cancer Society directly relates to what I do today. I got my feet wet with event management and building business relationships," said Christine, who plans to pursue a Master of Public Health or a Master of Business Administration.
