Each year, Rider students complete more than 1,000 internships, co-ops and field placements as part of their studies. Through these real-world experiences, you’ll develop on-the-job skills, build your resume and make valuable connections. Rider’s office of Career Development & Success helps students fine-tune their interview skills and connects students with opportunities through the Handshake online jobs portal.

With 150+ student organizations, 29 intramural and club sports teams, and 500+ annual events, there’s something for everyone to do outside the classroom. From Cranberry Fest to History Club, dodgeball games to literary magazines, our campus is an epicenter of year-round activities, deep-seated traditions, and diverse clubs and organizations that make Rider a wonderful place to call home. Students can always find out what’s happening on BroncNation and in the "This Week at Rider" email newsletter.

Free shuttle service is available to area commercial centers, transportation hubs, and local attractions on weekends.

Students are required to live on campus during their freshman and sophomore years at Rider to help foster academic success, professional preparation and personal development. Our distinctive focus on engaged learning is designed to have an impact on everything you do as a Rider student, both in and out of the classroom. Residency exceptions may be granted for transfer students, first-year students who live within 30 miles from campus with their parent(s)/legal guardians and in other select circumstances.

* Due to COVID-19, the University Residency requirement for the 2020-2021 academic year has been suspended.

Incoming students and their family members can connect with faculty and administrators, learn about campus resources, and meet other new students during orientation. Once you arrive on campus, the Student Navigation Office continues to connect first-year students with various support services that encourage their success. All students are also assigned a faculty advisor within their major and have access to free tutoring, writing, and success coaching through the Academic Success Center.
