Applied (one-on-one) music lessons are required for some majors within WCC and SCMPA. Applied lessons in voice incur a non-refundable program fee. Students should register for applied lessons during the regular registration period in order to ensure that space will be held for them in their teacher’s studio.
The ADD/DROP period for applied lessons is one week only (please see relevant dates on Academic Calendar). After the end of the first week of classes, you will not be permitted to add or drop applied lessons, and you will be responsible for any fees incurred for elective applied lessons not required for your major.
Many classes are hard-capped for pedagogical reasons including all online courses. These classes have waitlists. Check out How to Add Yourself to a Waitlisted Course and Next Steps
For inquiries about registering for closed classes without a waitlist, please email the Registrar's Office at [email protected]. Please understand that not all requests can be accommodated. Do not email a course instructor or academic advisor, as they do not have the authority to over-enroll a course.
- Be sure to include your:
- Bronc ID
- Course Subject and Number and Section
- CRN (Course Registration Number)
- Example (HIS 150 A1 CRN 12345)
Course prerequisites can be found in the Course Information tab of each course in the Class Section Search tool
Course restrictions can be found in the Restrictions tab of each course in the Class Section Search tool
If you encounter a registration error when registering for a course, please double-check the course prerequisites and restrictions to ensure that you qualify to register for the course.
Students requesting permission to override prerequisites and restrictions must contact the department chair or program director for approval. Students need to understand that not all requests can be approved.
Refer to the catalog for department/program’s course offerings and department chair/program director contact information.
Undergraduates – except Continuing Education Program (CEP) – must be registered for at least 12 credits for financial aid/ athletic/ student visa eligibility.
Important: Waitlisted courses do not count towards registered credits

Only the ensembles and productions listed below are considered non-billable for all full-time WCC and CMPA students regardless of student major. They are billable as credits for all non-WCC/CMPA students & all part-time students regardless of college.
Adjustments will be made to student billing after the drop period ends for Spring and Fall semesters to reverse any overload charges that full-time WCC/CMPA students may have accumulated.
Students who exceed the normal load are required to pay an overload per credit fee for each credit over 18, except in the case of non-billable hours.
UG FT students, anything above 18 credits will be manually adjusted by the Bursar’s office.
GR FT students, anything above 15 credits will be manually adjusted by the Bursar’s office.

Business students in the full-time bachelor degree program are subject to the NBCB Online Course Policy. According to this policy, freshmen in their first or second semester shall not take any online courses. Students with 24 or more completed credits are limited to enrolling in one online course per semester. CEP students and students enrolled in fully online programs are exempt from this online course policy.
For students who do not meet the criteria outlined in this policy, an exemption can be requested by completing the NBCB Online Course Policy Exemption Request form. Please note that this form is specifically for NBCB students.
The normal course load for each fall/spring semester is 17 credits except for WCC which is 18 credits. All students need a 3.0 GPA and 45 credits earned minimum except WCC who can overload after 24 credits. Students have to pay for credits above 18 (except for “non-billable” performing arts courses).
All requests for taking an overload need to be submitted using this form.
Students can register to repeat an F grade without permission unless course attempts are limited by their program.
If a student wants to retake a course they received a D or C- grade, then they must obtain approval from the academic associate or assistant dean of their college.
