Connecting with SASS
As a Rider student with a documented disability you may be wondering how to access accommodations and support services.
- Complete the Confidential Self-Disclosure Form which allows you to upload your documentation within the form. Be sure to refer to the Documentation Guidelines in order to know what documentation you need to provide.
- Provide documentation of your disability either through the Confidential Self-Disclosure Form, or by emailing it to [email protected].
- Check your Rider email for an invitation to schedule an intake appointment during which your accommodations for the semester will be determined.
- Email our office after your schedule has been finalized in order to receive your accommodation letters for the semester. SASS will email your accommodation letters to you and your professors.
Please note: Having a diagnosis does not necessarily mean you are eligible for academic accommodations. Accommodations are provided to students whose disability significantly limits their academic functioning. An IEP in and of itself is rarely sufficient documentation to secure accommodations, which are determined by review of documentation, intake interview with the student, and staff professional judgement.
In addition to accommodations, SASS offers coaching and consultation to students with documented disabilities. We invite you to contact us at: [email protected] to discuss our services.
See the Academic Disability Policy for more information.
