Rider University understands all of the ways that students need to be well and recognizes mental health as being an essential component of overall health and well-being. By partnering with The Jed Foundation (JED), to become a JED Campus in support of student emotional well-being and mental health, we are demonstrating our commitment to the emotional well-being of our students.
The program is part of a nationwide initiative of The Jed Foundation (JED) designed to guide schools through a collaborative process of comprehensive systems, program and policy development with customized support to build upon existing student mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention efforts.
Join us on our JED Campus Journey
As a JED Campus, Rider will embark on a multi-year strategic collaboration that not only assesses and enhances the work that is already being done but also helps create positive, lasting, systemic change in the campus community.
Rider has already established an interdisciplinary, campus-wide team, consisting of 19 staff members, faculty and students, to assess, support and implement program, policy and system improvements.
A JED expert has also visited our campus to begin to develop a strategic plan tailored to Rider’s unique needs. This plan will serve as a roadmap to implement enhancements over the course of the program. Throughout the process, we will also continue to collaborate with a dedicated JED Campus Advisor who will provide ongoing support and resources to assist us with achieving our goals.
