Employees who attend classes are expected to attend during non-work hours
If there is a compelling reason why an employee cannot attend during non-work hours, the employee can request that an exception be made. The exception is solely at the discretion of the supervisor in consultation with the Director of Human Resources. If a desired class is offered during the work schedule, the employee may request the schedule be altered to accommodate the class and still include the usual number of work hours per week. The supervisor may make such temporary changes provided department needs do not suffer. The request must be in writing to the supervisor with a copy to the Director of Human Resources. To ensure consistency throughout the University, the supervisor will consult with the Director of Human Resources before making an exception.
